Feeling damaged does not point to something wrong with you.
In many cases, your body adapted to survive.
During unsafe, overwhelming, or unpredictable experiences, your nervous system adjusted its responses. Under stress, it stayed alert. During overload, it shut down. When pressure increased, it reacted quickly. Each response supported protection.
This pattern explains why insight alone fails to change how you feel. Logic cannot calm the nervous system on its own. Repeated experiences of safety and choice drive change.
Healing does not involve fixing yourself or becoming someone new. Instead, healing helps your body exit survival mode.
You are not broken.
You are adapted.
The expanded post below explores this process in more detail. I also offer support options designed to support the nervous system gently, at your pace.
